Wilmington Mayor Reaches Out to Dolly’s Burgers and Shakes to Consider Former Frisch’s
WILMINGTON, OH –Wilmington Mayor Pat Haley announced today that he has sent a formal letter to the CEO of Big Boy of Michigan group, parent company of Dolly’s Burgers and Shakes, encouraging them to consider opening a new restaurant location in Wilmington.
The proposed site is the former Frisch’s Big Boy location on Rombach Avenue, which has remained a notable vacancy in one of the city’s primary commercial corridors. In his letter, Mayor Haley highlighted Wilmington’s strong community spirit and the location’s proven history as a successful restaurant site.
“Our community has a long tradition of supporting family restaurants, and this location has been a gathering place for local families for generations,” said Mayor Haley. “We believe Dolly’s Burgers and Shakes would be an excellent fit for our growing community and would find a warm welcome here in Wilmington.”
The mayor emphasized the strategic location on Rombach Avenue, noting its high visibility and easy accessibility for both locals and visitors. The property’s existing restaurant infrastructure could potentially reduce startup costs and accelerate the opening timeline.
City officials are optimistic about the possibility of bringing this new dining option to Wilmington, which would not only fill in vacant commercial property but also create new job opportunities for local residents.
