Sometimes hydrant flushing can make the water temporarily appear rust-colored because the iron and other mineral deposits in the water mains get stirred up. There is no health hazard associated with discolored water, however it may stain laundry.

An application must be submitted to the Utility Billing office. These are available in the Municipal Building or online. If the application is completed outside the office it must be notarized. A photo ID is required at the time of submission.
