Location- Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, OH

The City of Wilmington announces that Sugar Grove Cemetery has acquired a Columbarium, a structure built to permanently house cremated remains. Sugar Grove Cemetery cremation burial rates have increased by 30 percent over the past 15 years. The City found that a columbarium provides an additional option for individuals who choose cremation, while keeping grave spaces available for those who prefer traditional burials.

The project has been a collaborative effort between the City of Wilmington and Fisher-Edgington Funeral home. The 12,000-pound columbarium was delivered via semi and was placed with a crane on its concrete base.

The columbarium is located near the original entrance of Sugar Grove Cemetery, just behind the cemetery office building. The columbarium provides space for 140 ossuary internments and 89 companion niches. Each niche can hold up to two cremated remains.

Columbarium spaces and pricing will be available in the near future. If you have questions regarding the columbarium or Sugar Grove Cemetery, please contact the Cemetery Office at (937) 382-6509.
