Sugar Grove Cemetery Continues as an Official Location for the 2025 National
Wreaths Across America Day

The cemetery will join the more than 4,900 participating locations across the country to Remember, Honor and Teach on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025

LOCATION- Wilmington, OH

Sugar Grove Cemetery has once again joined in the yearlong mission alongside the National nonprofit Wreaths Across America (WAA) to Remember, Honor, and Teach as an official location for 2025 Wreaths Across America Day. This is the THIRD year that the cemetery will participate in this national program.

The public is invited to attend the Wreath Across America Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at 9:00am at the Veterans’ memorial at Sugar Grove Cemetery, 297 W Truesdell Street, Wilmington, OH 45177. Attendees are encouraged to remain on site after the ceremony to lay wreaths on veteran graves.

Wreaths Across America started as a simple gesture of thanks that has grown into a national, yearlong movement of dedicated volunteers and communities coming together to not only remember the nation’s fallen and honor their service, but to teach the next generation about the value of freedom. This year, there will be more than 4,900 participating locations placing veterans’ wreaths on National Wreaths Across America Day – Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 – with more than three million volunteers coming together.

Sugar Grove Cemetery set the goal to raise enough funds to place over 1800 sponsored veterans’ wreaths on the headstones of all the local heroes laid to rest in Sugar Grove. Thanks to individual sponsors, The Elks Lodge 797, and The American Legion Post 49, this goal has been met.

The wreath laying ceremony brings the community together to ensure that the individuals who served to protect the freedoms of our country are never forgotten. Sugar Grove Cemetery is grateful for the many supporters who dedicate their time, energy and resources to fulfill this mission. The Wilmington community knows the value of remembering the fallen, honoring those who currently serve, and teaching the next generation about the sacrifices made for freedom every day. Thanks to the community’s support, Sugar Grove Cemetery can continue the Wreaths Across America program each year.
