Schedule Bulk Item Pickup

This bulk item pickup service is provided for those residents who occasionally have one of these items and is limited to the collection of three (3) bulk items per year, not for large quantities such as when a resident or renter moves or cleans up a property. After three (3) bulk items, there will be an additional charge of $15 per item, or a yardage charge will be assessed to the customer's utility bill for multiple items.

When a large volume is involved, all such items must be hauled to the Wilmington Landfill by the property owner or tenant.

Appliances

Appliances not containing Freon can be picked up as bulk items.

Appliances containing Freon include but are not limited to;

• Refrigerators
• Freezers
• Air conditioners

Furniture & Mattresses

Mattresses, box springs, couches, and other upholstered furniture can also be collected during bulk pick up. These items shall be wrapped in plastic and sealed. A mattress and box spring set shall count as one bulk pickup.

Carpet

Carpet must be tied in rolls no larger than ten inches in diameter or four feet in length. Up to ten rolls may be set out and shall count as one bulk pickup.

Pick Up Location

If regular trash is collected at the curb, bulky items shall be placed in front of the home, away from obstructions on the scheduled collection day. If regular trash is picked up in an alley, bulky items shall be placed on the edge of the property at the alley line on the scheduled collection day.
