The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) is currently reviewing requests from AES Ohio and CenterPoint Energy to significantly increase the monthly distribution (delivery) rates charged to customers. If approved, these rate hikes would result in a combined monthly bill increase of $45.12 for many households—$21.75 from AES Ohio and $23.37 from CenterPoint Energy.

Public hearings regarding these proposed increases have been scheduled only in Dayton:

CenterPoint PUCO Public Hearing:

Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
Dayton City Commission Office, 101 W. Third Street SE, Dayton, OH 45402

AES Ohio PUCO Public Hearings:

Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.

Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.

Dayton City Commission Office, 101 W. Third Street SE, Dayton, OH 45402

The Ohio Consumers’ Counsel (OCC) has requested a virtual hearing to ensure more customers can participate, but PUCO has not responded to this request as of now.
