**Disposal of Storm Debris**

LOCATION – Wilmington, Ohio
The City of Wilmington announces an offer of support to Wilmington residents for removal and disposal of storm debris following the effects of Hurricane Helene.

Beginning Monday, October 7, 2024, city maintenance crews will collect organic materials (leaves, twigs, branches, etc.) roadside at no additional cost to residents. Debris must be broken down into manageable pieces, no more than six inches in diameter and six feet in length. All debris must be placed at the curb no later than 12:00 AM as the crews will only be able to make one pass through the city. In an effort to use resources responsibly, crews will not backtrack to collect debris that was not in place prior to this deadline.

When placing items out for pickup, please be mindful of the following guidelines. Items for pick up should never be placed in the street or block the sidewalk. No rocks, trash, or other non-organic materials should be included. Do not block fire hydrants and park vehicles in driveways where possible.

Wilmington residents may also bring organic storm debris to the landfill for disposal at no cost effective immediately, ending at close of business Friday, October 11, 2024. Debris must be delivered to the landfill during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM.

The City of Wilmington asks that all residents be patient, understanding, and exercise added caution while storm repairs are being completed. Questions regarding the debris removal may be directed to the office of the Director of Public Service, (937) 382-6509.
