Construction to Begin on Southeast Neighborhood Improvements Project
Partnership with Clinton County and State Funding through CDBG Program
Wilmington, OH – March 13, 2025 – The City of Wilmington, in partnership with Clinton County, is proud to announce the Southeast Neighborhood Improvements Project. With support from the Ohio Department of Development’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, construction will soon start on improvements aimed at upgrading infrastructure, safety, and quality of life in the Southeast Neighborhood.
The public engagement process for the project began in late 2022, with the application for funding submitted in 2023. Project construction is expected to begin in May and be completed by the end of August 2025.
The Southeast Neighborhood Improvements Project will include the following:
• Crosswalk on Grant Street
• Improved Street/Pedestrian Lighting
• Playground and Park Improvements at Southeast Community Park
• New Sidewalks on Grant Street
• Community Space Improvements at Bible Missionary Baptist Church
This project marks a significant step forward in enhancing the southeast neighborhood of Wilmington, and it reflects the ongoing commitment of local leaders to invest in infrastructure and community spaces. The collaboration with Clinton County and the state’s CDBG Program has made these improvements possible, and the City of Wilmington is excited to see these plans come to life.
“We are thrilled to partner with Clinton County and receive state support through the CDBG Program to enhance the quality of life for our residents,” said Wilmington Mayor, Patrick Haley. “This project is the result of years of community feedback and planning, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our community.”
