City of Wilmington Announces Modifications to Snow Plowing and Removal Procedures
Wilmington, OH — The City of Wilmington is pleased to announce an update to its snow plowing and removal procedures to enhance the safety and efficiency of snow removal efforts during winter weather events.
In response to public feedback and a review of past snow removal operations, the City has implemented a modified approach aimed at faster and more thorough clearing of streets throughout the city.
Snow will now be plowed from curb to curb on all primary streets. This approach ensures that these main roads are cleared more thoroughly, allowing for safer travel throughout the city. Crews will conduct one pass through all secondary and residential streets to establish a clear path. Once all secondary streets have been plowed one time, crews will return to plow these streets from curb to curb to expose street gutters and catch basins to allow melting snow to properly drain to the storm sewer system.
This modification aims to expedite the clearing process and ensure that all streets receive proper attention while prioritizing thorough snow removal on higher-traffic roads.
When possible, please keep vehicles off the road to assist plow drivers with quick and efficient plowing and salting. Cars parked in the street may be blocked in by snow once streets are cleared.
The City of Wilmington thanks all residents for their cooperation and understanding as these changes are implemented. Questions regarding snow removal procedures may be directed to the City Services office at 937-382-6509.
